Today, women make up 51% of
professional workers in the United States. This is a major achievement from 1972, when women
represented just 38 percent of the workforce.1 Since then, many
opportunities have opened for women in technical fields such as science, math
and engineering. According to the
Solar Foundation’s National Solar Jobs Census, nineteen percent of all solar
workers were women in 2013, representing 26,738 solar workers2. The
women at Monolith Solar Associates are proud to assist this upward trend of
female workers in a male dominated industry. With the solar industry at the brink of a major expansion in
the United States, there are endless opportunities for women to thrive in this
business. In the last decade, the
solar industry created 100,000 new jobs3. The
renewable energy industry in general is a great opportunity for women all
around the world.
