Rensselaer School District Goes Solar with Monolith Solar

RENSSELAER — A 200-kilowatt solar array will be started Monday morning at the Rensselaer City School District campus.
Monolith Solar Associates installed the 671 solar panels that form the array. The system will provide renewable energy to the district campus.

Monolith will sell the power produced by the panels to the district through a 20-year, power-purchase agreement. The district is expected to save $164,000.

Job Opening - Master Electrician


Job Title:  Master Electrician

Job Description: To install solar electrical systems in accordance with both NYS Building and Electric codes and NEC code. Provide guidance & direction throughout for installation teams on safe electrical practices and OSHA safety requirements. A strong focus on development and implementation of best practices for scalable growth and team member development.

Deliverables: Measurable results in the reduction of cost and cycle time combined with increased quality relating to PV system construction & operational processes. Create best practice methodologies. Train & development team of electricians. Develop, Review & Approve project plans. Monitor job progression and job site efficiencies. Perform quality closeout on all installations.

Requirements: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) Req’d. 1800 hours of Trade School. 15+ years industry experience. Must hold a valid Electrician’s License within NYS.

Responsibilities
  1. Works with AHJ, provides license for permit application and meets all requirements for electrical inspections.
  2. Ensures that all electrical systems meet the requirements of the New York State Building and NEC Electrical codes.
  3. Provides leadership and direction to all Monolith Solar employees with electrical matters such as; listing of purchased equipment, safety, best practice installation, area layout etc.
  4. Participates in the electrical planning and execution of system construction, expansion, or complex equipment installations.
  5. Diagnoses electrical problems and ensures corrective action.
  6. Performs miscellaneous work as required

Administrative Assistant Job Purpose:


 Provides office services by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies, and monitoring administrative projects.

Duties may include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, filing, and faxing. Extensive software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities and strong communication skills. Staff in this category also may have the title of department assistant, coordinator or associate.
